Recycled ceramic and glass mosaic

Holly Commons, Austin, TX

Mural of girl with blue skin and hair with green headband and mask

Mobilized by the ongoing pandemic, I was one of 12 artists commissioned by the city of Austin to create socially engaged artworks that remind people about being safe and healthy in light of COVID-19. After the mosaic was installed and completed in April 2021, the narrative shifted to be more of a reminder and memorial of those lost to COVID-19.

Made of 100% recycled ceramic and glass tiles.
