Spray paint on corrugated aluminum and brick wall

Buick City (Closed), Flint, MI

Black and white mural of Spock squatting by the hood of his car

This mural for the Flint Public Art Project is located at the former site of Buick City, which was at one point the world’s largest automobile manufacturer. Painted in grayscale using sponsor Kobra brand paint, Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock poses with his 1964 Buick Riviera in a timeless capture. It took me over 4 days on a scissor lift using the doodle grid method for accurate image transfer to complete the mural, which is activated using PixelStix technology. Thanks to sensors embedded in the paint, you can scan it with a smartphone and pull up digital content as well as mural maps for the Flint Public Art murals collection and my own artist's gallery.
