This pedal car was found at the home residence of long-time Austin body shop owner and Lowrider John Colunga. He still works at and runs his shop in East Austin and has in his career customized more than 20 unique show-worthy Lowrider vehicles. He let me borrow this 1970s pedal car to show yet another aspect of car show culture, the mini lowrider cars that children ride around in. Often times these miniature pedal cars are customized to match the full size cars, with layered shimmering paint jobs, rims, chain link steering wheels, interiors and all the rest.
