CapMetro Q2 Stadium Station Opening
We’ve finished our mosaic The Heartbeat of Austin and were waiting for construction to complete. Well, now it’s ready! The rail station is hosting its opening this weekend, and we’ll start installation shortly.

The Heartbeat of Austin
If you’ve ever been to an Austin FC game, you’ve probably seen La Murga and all the other dedicated and passionate Los Verdes Supporter Groups. This monumental mosaic mural is inspired by their electric community and commitment to uplifting Austin. Comprised of over 100,000 glass tiles, the mural will be installed permanently at CapMetro’s newly renovated McKalla Station next to Q2 Stadium in north Austin.
As a part of this project, we will also be helping La Murga de Austin produce their new album!
About the Workdays
Throughout Fall 2023, hundreds of community members and participants of the Austin FC supporter groups like La Murga and Los Verdes joined us at Something Cool Studios to help lay tiles for The Heartbeat of Austin. Now that the mosaic is almost ready to be installed, participants and thousands of Q2 attendees can see the station where the artwork will be installed!
